A bathroom suction basket is an open basket that hangs on suction cups against a tile or glass wall, so it needs no drilling or glue. This guide covers six of them from their Amazon listings: three iDesign baskets, plus OXO, LEVERLOC, and TAILI. For each one it states what the listing says about size, load, and the surfaces it works on, and where the listings contradict themselves.

Baskets are open on purpose, so water drains and bottles dry between showers. That also means a basket holds only what its cups can carry, and the listings differ a lot on that point.

Quick answer: which suction basket for which job

  • Widest plain basket: the iDesign hanging suction basket, listed at about 10.25 inches wide in its bullet.
  • Bottles stored upside down: the OXO Good Grips suction large basket, whose listing says it has holes for storing bottles upside down.
  • Basket plus soap dish and toothbrush holder: the LEVERLOC set, which lists 4 suction cups and a 22-pound figure.
  • Metal baskets with a stated load: the TAILI two-pack, 22 pounds per shelf per the bullet.
  • Small items in a tight space: the compact iDesign basket, 5.5 x 2.5 x 6.5 inches.
  • Tub or shower corner: the iDesign corner basket set of 2.

How we chose these six

We kept listings that describe a basket held to the wall by suction cups, and we left out adhesive-only baskets, over-the-door baskets, and free-standing totes. The specs come from the Amazon listing text we read between 2026-10-11 and 2026-10-14, plus a search check on 2026-10-18.Every load figure is the seller’s statement, and some listings contain figures that look like data errors, which we flag below.

Comparison table

iDesign compact basket BPA-free plastic 5.5 x 2.5 x 6.5 in Field reads 1.13 g, likely an error Included, count not stated Glass, tile, fiberglass, some metals

The six picks

1. iDesign hanging suction shower caddy basket (best wide, plain basket)

Specs from the listing (checked on 2026-10-11):

  • Material: plastic; the listing says it is made in the USA
  • Size: 10.25 x 3.75 x 4 in in a bullet; 10.2 x 4.8 x 4.35 in in the spec table
  • Weight: 9.6 ounces
  • Design: open sides for airflow, and suction cups that stick to the shower wall
  • Warranty: 90-day limited, per the spec table
  • Set option: a set of 2 is a separate listing (3.75 x 10.25 x 4 in, two suction cups, BPA-free plastic)

Listing conflict: the size differs between the spec table and the bullet, and the maximum-weight field (226.8 g) looks like a data error. The listing does not explain it.

Best for: a shelf-style basket for bottles, razors, and washcloths in one run.

Skip if: you need a stated weight limit. This listing’s weight-recommendation field reads 226.8 g, which is about 0.5 pound.

2. iDesign suction cup shower caddy basket, compact (best for small items)

Specs from the listing (checked on 2026-10-14):

  • Material: BPA-free plastic; made in USA per the highlight
  • Size: 5.5 x 2.5 x 6.5 in
  • Weight: 0.07 kg
  • Use: smaller shampoo and conditioner bottles, shower gel, soap, toothbrushes, razors, and sponges
  • Surfaces: most smooth surfaces including glass, tile, fiberglass, and some metals
  • Design: open design so items dry after use

Listing conflict: the capacity field reads “1.13 g”, which cannot be a load rating. Treat the listing as giving no load figure.

Best for: a compact tub or shower where only a few small items need a home.

Skip if: you carry large bottles. The listing positions it for smaller bottles and compact spaces.

3. OXO Good Grips suction large basket for showers (best for upside-down bottles)

Specs from the listing (checked on 2026-10-14):

  • Capacity: the bullet calls it a large-capacity basket that keeps multiple bottles close at hand
  • Storage: holes for storing shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap bottles upside down
  • Mounting: StrongHold suction cups, phthalate-free, with a lever for tool-free install; the cups slide to avoid grout lines
  • Surfaces: best on smooth glazed surfaces, mirrors, or glass; not recommended on textured or porous surfaces including some stone, acrylic, or metal
  • Weight: 12.8 ounces
  • Support: the OXO Better Guarantee: repair or replacement if you have an issue

Listing conflict: the spec table shows the material as glass and the finish as metal, but the bullets describe suction cups and holes for bottles and do not name the basket material. The listing gives no dimensions or load figure.

Best for: a tiled shower where the grout lines do not line up with the cups.

Skip if: your wall is acrylic or metal. The listing does not recommend them.

4. LEVERLOC suction cup set with basket, soap dish, and toothbrush holder (best all-in-one set)

Specs from the listing (checked on 2026-10-14):

  • Set: 4 suction cups, 1 basket, 1 soap dish, and 1 toothbrush holder
  • Material: TPE suction cups and ABS plastic
  • Size: 5 x 4.7 x 12 in for the set; 3 compartments
  • Load: the bullet says up to 10 kg or 22 lbs; the spec field says 9.98 kg
  • Temperature claim: the seller says the cups are weather proof from -4 to 174 degrees F, which is a claim we did not verify
  • Surfaces: only uncracked ceramic tile, glass, mirror, polished metal, stainless steel, and acrylic; not grout lines, painted or dry wall, wood, or wallpaper

Best for: a bather who wants basket, soap dish, and toothbrush holder in one install.

Skip if: your shower wall is painted or mostly grout. The listing says the cups will not work there.

5. TAILI heavy duty suction shower caddy basket, 2-pack (best metal baskets)

Specs from the listing (checked on 2026-10-13):

  • Material: stainless steel with a hollow-out design for drainage
  • Size: 3.9 x 11.4 x 4.5 in
  • Load: each shelf has 2 suction cups and holds up to 22 pounds per the bullet
  • Includes: 2 black baskets and 2 razor hooks
  • Install: press the cups with your palm; the listing says 1 second, with no screws, nails, or glue
  • Surfaces: smooth, non-porous: metal, glass, tile, stainless steel, and acrylic. It excludes uneven tile, texture plates, unfinished marble, wallpaper, and painted walls

Listing conflict: the title says “2 Pack”, but the spec table shows a unit count of 1 and “caddy” as the included component. The bullet lists two black caddies and two razor hooks.

Best for: a bather who wants rust-resistant metal baskets and a stated 22-pound rating per shelf.

Skip if: you want only one basket. The listing is sold as a 2-pack.

6. iDesign plastic suction cup corner shower basket, set of 2 (best for corners)

Specs from the listing (checked on 2026-10-14):

  • Material: clear BPA-free, shatter-resistant plastic
  • Size: 7 x 9 x 3.5 in per basket
  • Mounting: four suction cups across the set, per the bullet; the angled design fits corners of tubs and shower stalls
  • Surfaces: non-porous, including tiled walls and glass shower doors
  • Load: not stated
  • Care: clean with mild soap and water; drain vents let water flow through

Listing conflict: the spec table says “Tabletop Mount” and “Self-Adhesive”, but the bullets describe suction cups. We followed the bullets.

Best for: a corner where a straight basket will not sit.

Skip if: you want a weight rating, which this listing does not give.

Where the listings disagree

  • Acrylic walls: the LEVERLOC and TAILI listings name acrylic as a working surface, and the OXO listing does not recommend acrylic. Check your wall material before you pick.
  • Grout: the LEVERLOC listing says not to stick on a grout line, while the OXO listing says its cups slide to avoid grout lines.
  • Load figures: iDesign’s weight fields read 226.8 g and 1.13 g, which are not usable ratings. LEVERLOC and TAILI give 22-pound figures.
  • Pack counts: the TAILI title says 2 pack, and its spec table says 1.

Worked example: how many bottles fit in the iDesign hanging basket?

This is a planning example with assumed bottle sizes, not a measurement. Use the 10.25 x 3.75 x 4 inch size from the bullet. Suppose each bottle is 2.5 inches across (an assumption).

  • Across the 10.25-inch width: 10.25 / 2.5 = 4.1, so 4 bottles side by side.
  • Across the 3.75-inch depth: 3.75 / 2.5 = 1.5, so one row.
  • Result: about 4 upright bottles. Bottles taller than the 4-inch wall will lean on the rim.
  • Weight: four 16 fl oz bottles at about 1.04 pounds each (the weight of the same volume of water) come to about 4.2 pounds.

That compares with the listing’s odd weight field of 226.8 g, which is about 0.5 pound. If that were a true limit, four full bottles would be roughly 8 times over it. The listing does not say what the field means, so ask the seller or read the product Q&A before you load this basket heavily. The LEVERLOC and TAILI baskets at least state a 22-pound figure, which would leave the same four bottles at about 19 percent of the rating.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Ignoring the wall material. OXO, LEVERLOC, and TAILI all list surfaces they do not work on.
  • Putting the cups on grout. The LEVERLOC listing says not to, and the OXO cups are designed to slide away from it.
  • Treating a data-error field as a rating. The iDesign weight fields are not credible load figures.
  • Buying by title alone. TAILI and iDesign show mismatches between title or bullets and the spec table.
  • Loading it before the cups seat. Watch the empty basket first, then add bottles.

Who should skip a suction basket

Skip a suction basket if your shower wall is painted, textured, or mostly grout; the LEVERLOC and TAILI listings exclude those. For more suction options, read Basket With Suction Cups, Best Bath Caddy With Suction Cups, and Shower Holders With Suction.

Frequently asked questions

Do suction baskets work on grout lines?

Not reliably. The LEVERLOC listing says not to stick the cups on a grout line. The OXO listing says its StrongHold cups slide so you can avoid grout lines.

Which suction basket stores bottles upside down?

The OXO Good Grips suction large basket. Its listing says it has holes for storing shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap bottles upside down.

Which suction basket works on acrylic?

The LEVERLOC and TAILI listings name acrylic among their working surfaces. The OXO listing does not recommend acrylic, and the compact iDesign listing names glass, tile, fiberglass, and some metals.

What load do these baskets state?

LEVERLOC states up to 22 pounds (10 kg) for its set, and TAILI states 22 pounds per shelf. The iDesign weight fields read 226.8 g and 1.13 g, which are not usable ratings, and OXO and the iDesign corner set state none. We have not tested any of them.

How is a suction basket different from an adhesive one?

A suction basket presses air out of its cups and can be removed and moved. The TAILI listing says its cups install in 1 second with no 24-hour curing time. Check each listing for its own removal steps.

Bottom line

Match the basket to your wall first. For a tiled shower with irregular grout, the OXO basket is built to slide its cups. For an all-in-one set, choose LEVERLOC, and for metal baskets with a stated rating, choose TAILI. The iDesign baskets suit light loads, but their listings give no usable weight rating, so keep the load small. Read the conflict notes above, and see Best Suction Bathroom Caddy if you want the shelf style.
