Best Dual Shower Heads: Fixed Plus Handheld Options
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Dual shower heads pair a fixed overhead head with a handheld head, so you can rinse from above or spray where you need it. This roundup covers seven dual shower heads from Amazon listings. Each entry gives what the listing says about flow, spray settings, finish, hose and mount. Where a listing is silent, the entry says not stated. Later sections set those flow figures against EPA and DOE sources, and another section lists what the sources do not cover.
Quick answer
- A dual shower head here is a fixed overhead head plus a handheld head, on one arm or with a diverter, as each listing describes it.
- Four of the seven listings state a flow rate: 1.75 GPM for two Delta sets, and 2.5 GPM for a Moen set and one Bright Showers set. The other three say not stated.
- The 1.75 GPM sets are under the 2.0 gpm limit in the EPA WaterSense specification, but no listing says the set carries the WaterSense label.
- Before you buy, check the hose length, the mount and the flow figure, since several listings leave one out. Check the gpm marking on the head when it arrives.
How we chose
The seven listings were chosen on three criteria. Each set has a fixed overhead head and a handheld head, connected on one arm or through a diverter. Each listing describes how the handheld mounts, docks or switches. None of the sets is a filter-only product. A flow rate is recorded only where the listing gives one, and four of the seven do. The listing text was read on 2026-10-22. Seven listings were kept from the search results. Other listings from the same searches were left out, because they repeat a model already covered in an earlier list or sit on an internal exclusion list. The seven are not ranked.
The 7 dual shower heads
The entries are not ranked. The spec lines are what each listing says. Each entry adds a skip rule and one limitation, followed by the product link.
Delta In2ition 6-setting dual shower head, brushed nickel (model 75655SN)
This set has a fixed overhead head and a hand shower. The listing says the hand shower can be docked on the head or used on its own, and the bullets say both heads flow at the same time. The listing gives a flow rate of 1.75 GPM and does not give L/min. It names six settings, including ProClean, Full Body and Pause. The title gives the finish as brushed nickel or satin nickel, and the bullets name a Brilliance PVD finish. The product table lists a showerhead, a hand shower and a hose. The listing does not state face size, material, connection or hose length.
Skip if you need a hose length or a head material on the listing before you buy. If hose reach is your limit, see the guide to hand shower extension hoses.
Limitation: without a hose length, you cannot tell how far the hand shower reaches from the arm.
Psylc All Metal 12-inch rain shower with handheld spray (model PSY-NG-12CH)
This set pairs a 12-inch rain head with a handheld on a holder. The title gives the head size as 12 inches, and the bullets describe a square face. The bullets say the set has three spray modes plus one high-pressure jet mode, and the listing does not give a count for each head. The bullets say the head is made entirely of stainless steel. They also list a 16-inch solid brass extension arm and a 70-inch hose of stainless steel and rubber. The bullets say a diverter arm lowers the handheld holder, and the title gives the finish as chrome. Flow is not stated.
Skip if you need a flow figure to check against the 2.0 gpm limit, since the listing gives none. Also skip it if you want the spray modes split by head, because the listing does not split them.
Limitation: the bullets say no plumber is required, but they do not say whether mounting is tool-free or drill-free, so do not assume the install is tool-free.
Moen Engage 2-in-1 showerhead and handshower, matte black (model 26009BL)
This is a fixed showerhead with a detachable handshower, which the bullets describe as a 2-in-1 design. The handshower docks on a magnetic dock that the listing calls Magnetix. The product table gives a flow rate of 2.5 GPM, but that figure sits in the item type name field, not in the bullets, and the listing gives no L/min figure. The listing says six spray settings. The bullets give the rainshower face as about 6-3/4 inches across and the docked assembly as about 17-3/4 inches tall. The hose is 60 inches of metal. The finish is matte black, and the head material is not stated.
Skip if you need a tool-free or drill-free mount confirmed by the listing, because it does not say either. For a Moen dual head with a slide bar, see the guide to Moen dual heads with a slide bar.
Limitation: if the 2.5 GPM figure holds, the set exceeds the 2.0 gpm WaterSense ceiling, and the listing does not say the set carries that label.
Ashwanth 8-inch rainfall head with handheld dual spray, chrome (model QY-HST-5)
The rainfall head has an 8-inch square face, according to the bullets, and the title gives the finish as 304 chrome. The bullets name a 304 stainless steel head and an 11-inch solid brass extension arm. The title lists three modes and a flow regulator, but the listing gives no gpm figure, so flow is not stated. A button switches between the shower functions, and the listing does not give a spray count for each head. The bullets say installation takes minutes and needs no handyman, and they do not say whether it is tool-free or drill-free. The bullets describe the connection as standard pipe threads and say the soft silicone nozzles resist lime scale build-up.
Skip if you need a stated flow figure, since the listing gives only mode names. Also skip it if you need one consistent model number, because the product table shows two.
Limitation: the product table lists model QY-HST-5 but a manufacturer part number of QY-HST-1, so check the box label before you order.
Bright Showers dual shower head combo, chrome with black face (model PSS3919-91)
The bullets state 2.5 GPM and give no L/min figure. They say the set has four spray settings, with two modes on each head, and a front-facing button switches between the rainfall head and the handheld. The title gives the finish as chrome with a black face. The hose is 60 inches of stainless steel, and the bullets say the set fits any standard shower arm. Installation is tool-free and needs no drilling, with three hand-tighten connections, according to the bullets. The bullets list one Teflon thread seal tape among the parts. The listing does not state face size or head material.
Skip if you need to know whether a shower arm is in the box, because the bullets say no arm is included and the product table lists one.
Limitation: on its own 2.5 GPM figure, this set is over the EPA WaterSense ceiling of 2.0 gpm.
Bright Showers rain shower with handheld and power-wash jet, chrome (model BAS2055-91)
The bullets say the rainfall head has two spray settings and the handheld has nine. A power-wash jet is a button on the back of the handheld. The extension arm is brass and height-adjustable, and a 3-way diverter with a holder links the two heads. The hose is 69 inches of stainless steel, according to the bullets. The product table lists a rainfall head, a handheld, an extension arm, a diverter with holder and a shower hose, and gives an item weight of 4.15 lb. The title gives the finish as chrome. The listing does not state flow or head material.
Skip if you need a flow figure in the listing, because it has none. Also skip it if a tool-free mount is a firm requirement, since the listing does not say whether the mount is tool-free. For a mount that avoids drilling, see the guide to drill-less shower slide bars.
Limitation: the listing names a power-wash jet but does not describe its spray pattern, and it gives no flow figure to check the jet against.
Delta In2ition 5-setting dual shower head, chrome (model 75548)
The title gives a flow rate of 1.75 GPM, and the listing gives no L/min figure. The bullets list five spray options, including ProClean, Full Body and Pause. The finish is chrome in the title and Brilliance in the bullets. The product table lists a hand shower and a hose, while the bullets also name a 3-way diverter that lets the head and hand shower run separately or together. The hose length and material are not stated.
Skip if you need a hose length on the listing before you buy, because none is given.
The bullets describe a wide fan spray that can help reduce soap scum buildup with regular use. The sources opened for this post do not check that claim.
Limitation: the only flow figure sits in the title, and the bullets do not repeat it.
The table repeats the stated facts for quick comparison. Cells say not stated where the listing gives nothing.

What the sources say about flow and pressure
The EPA WaterSense specification for showerheads sets the flow limit. The text read for this post is labelled Version 1.0, and it says a labelled showerhead “must be equal to or less than 2.0 gallons per minute (gpm).” The spec sets the maximum flow as the highest flow found in testing at flowing pressures of 20, 45, and 80 psi. It also says the product must be marked with its maximum flow rate in gpm and L/min.
The EPA consumer page says standard showerheads use 2.5 gallons of water per minute (gpm). It says WaterSense labeled showerheads “must demonstrate that they use no more than 2.0 gpm” and “must be independently certified to ensure they meet EPA water efficiency and performance criteria.” Under its pressure compensation heading, the page gives the criterion “Ensures the showerhead will provide for a minimum flow across a range of household water pressures.” In plain terms, the minimum is tied to a range of household pressures, not to one number.
The DOE showerhead page says the Energy Policy Act of 1992 amended EPCA to add water conservation standards for showerheads. The same page quotes EPCA’s definition: “EPCA defines a showerhead as any showerhead (including a handheld showerhead).” A DOE weatherization installer job aid lists 2.5 gallons per minute for showerheads, the same figure EPA gives for standard showerheads. For a dual set, the handheld head therefore falls under the same definition as the fixed head.
On pressure, the sources are thin. The Oklahoma State University fact sheet says residential water pressure is ideally about 40 to 60 psi, but that sheet is about irrigation, so read the range as a general residential figure, not a shower range. None of the sources opened here describes an effect of a shower head on house water pressure. Five of the seven titles use the words “High Pressure,” yet none of the seven listings gives a psi figure. This post makes no pressure-gain claim for any of these heads. For single heads that address pressure and water use, see the guide to high-pressure shower heads with water-saving features.
Flow checks belong on the head itself. The EPA spec says a product covered by it must be marked with its maximum flow rate in gpm and L/min, and an EPA technical sheet for showerheads says to “VERIFY the gpm marking on the showerhead.” A figure in a listing is only a claim until the marking matches it.
What we could not verify: what the sources do not say
These gaps apply to the seven entries above and to the sources in this post.
- No independent spray or flow measurement is in the sources opened for this post. The only flow figures for these heads are the ones the listings give.
- The WaterSense label status is not in the listings. The listing data read for this post names no certification for any of the seven.
- No source opened here gives a shower arm thread size. Check the arm or the manual before you buy a head that needs a connection.
- The manufacturer care pages were not reached, so finish care is not covered. The sources give no soak limits for nickel, chrome or matte black.
- The sources do not say whether a shower head can raise house water pressure.
- The 40 to 60 psi range comes from an irrigation fact sheet. It is a general residential figure, not a shower range.
- The EPA specification read here is Version 1.0. The EPA showerhead page says Version 1.1 made minor changes, and that later text was not read for this post.
- One EPA line mentions changing the spray force test to accommodate water-efficient rain showers, but no source opened here gives flow criteria for rain showers.
- No standard shower head height is in the sources, and the NJ guidance gives no cleaning schedule.
- The sources opened here do not check the listing claims about soap scum or lime scale resistance.
Frequently asked questions
What is a dual shower head?
In this post, a dual shower head is a set with a fixed overhead head and a handheld head. The handheld may dock on the head, sit in a holder, or switch with a diverter, depending on the listing. If you prefer a handheld that moves along a bar, see the guide to handheld shower heads on a slide bar.
Does a dual shower head change my water pressure?
The sources opened for this post do not show that a shower head changes house water pressure, so this post makes no such claim. A listing title that says High Pressure is a description, not a measurement, and no listing in the set gives a psi number.
What flow rate should I look for?
EPA’s WaterSense specification sets a limit of 2.0 gpm or less for labelled showerheads, and EPA says standard showerheads use 2.5 gallons per minute. Only four listings give a number: 1.75 GPM for both Delta sets, and 2.5 GPM for the Moen set and one Bright Showers set. Check the gpm marking on the head itself, since an EPA technical sheet says to verify it. For handheld heads on their own, see the guide to water-efficient handheld shower heads.
Do the handheld parts count as showerheads?
Yes. The federal definition quoted earlier includes handheld units, so a dual set’s handheld head is covered in the same way as its fixed head. The listings give one flow figure per set where they give a figure at all, so check the product page if you need a separate figure for each head.
Do I need thread tape?
The sources disagree, so follow the instruction sheet that ships with your set. A DOE installer job aid says to use thread tape at all connections. A Moen handheld guide in the research library says thread seal tape is not recommended for that project, and a Moen magnetic docking sheet says to add it to the shower arm threads. Neither Moen sheet is confirmed as the sheet for a set on this list. Turn off the water before you start, hand tighten the bracket to the arm rather than forcing it, and turn the water back on to check for leaks.
How do I clear mineral buildup from the nozzles?
The New Jersey guidance says naturally occurring minerals can build up and block the nozzles. An NDSU extension publication says a whitish buildup on shower heads is probably the most obvious result of hard water. The NJ guidance describes trying to remove the head by hand first, soaking it overnight in distilled white vinegar, and clearing clogged holes with a needle or a straightened paper clip. The sources do not give soak limits for nickel, chrome or matte black finishes, so check the care sheet for your finish before you soak the head.
Bottom line
Pick the set whose listing states the flow rate, hose length and mount you need, and if the flow figure is missing, check the gpm marking on the head before you install it.
